Donations

At Stonegate Farms Equine Rescue and Rehabilitation, our primary goal has always been to rescue starving, ill and injured unwanted horses in order to bring them back to a state of good health and well being. This process is followed by additional rehabilitation making them safe and enjoyable companions for their adoptive humans. Tutoring is provided to the adoptive human for the correct care and feeding of this special new friend.  Also, follow-up visits to the new homes of these rehabilitated horses are made to insure there are no problems and that the basic needs of the equine are being met.

Horses are regal beasts that humans have sought to tame, own and ride for centuries. A horse's freedom to run in the wild for exercise, forage off acres of mixed grasses for balanced nutrition and romp with the herd over varied terrain to naturally trim hooves has vanished for all but a few. When horses are domesticated, they become dependent on their human owners for food, water, exercise, trimming hooves, veternarian care and training.  All too often, a person purchases a horse without any idea of the maintenance required by their new pet. Horses have to be cared for on a daily basis. Due to the inability of the owner to provide the adequate maintenance required to take care of a horse, many are abandoned, especially in these tough economic times.

We rescue and rehabilitate as many horses as we can possibility handle.   Never have we asked for donations, but due to the rise in costs of food, veterinarian care and an increasing number of horses in need, we are forced to ask for assistance from horse lovers like you. Thank you for understanding and caring.
